Making the Best of It

Well it's now officially July and the world is still shut down due to Corona Virus nearly 6 months after it broke out. Certain places are opening back up again slowly and we can now start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Doesn't mean it can't happen again. I am sure everyone will have a back up plan in place in case it does this time too. I know I have personally been doing everything I can to stay busy, stay confident and educate my self during these uncertain times. I have been waking up every morning and staring my day with mediation. Really helps with focus.

Staying Strong Through This Pandemic

This Pandemic has got to by far be the most troubling time of my freelance career. All booking were slowly wiped from my calendar one by one until further notice. I no longer have any income what so ever coming in until society is safe is again. I know everyone is going through this together. However most are fortunate enough to have a full time career that they can work from home and collect a salary while all this is going on. Or at least a part time career that they can be let go from and collect unemployment. As an independent contractor you do not have those privileges.

Accepting the new offers I never received before

I love how I have come to the point in my career where the only roles that are coming in for me are grey hair color touch up ads, and botox campaigns! Oh I also go out for pharmaceutical commercials and young mom roles now too. Have no problem booking those roles these days. Especially with the new headshots I finally love. I laugh though because when I was 18 I remember complaining that I didn't want to just be another bikini model in a horror film. Wanted people to take me seriously. I wanted to take on bigger opportunities in my film and television career.

Not Your Average Model

One of my favorite jokes I always hold dear to my heart is the 3 stages of an actors career:
1. Get me Katherine Mesa. 2. Get me a younger, prettier, more available, Katherine Mesa 3. Who is Katherine Mesa?

The Plan

Anyone who is in the eyes of the public always has to watch their figure. The camera really does add 10 lbs! So how do I do it? Keeping the weight off has always been a struggle, believe me. But I was determined to get back to the same size I was when I started my career at before my wedding. Boy did I try every diet on the market to get there. I started with The drop program which is basically the starvation diet where you take these liquid drops instead of eating real food so you don't get hungry. Was awful but I lost 8 lbs.

I'm a married women now

And this time it isn't just for pretend! After playing countless brides and bridesmaids in plays and movies I am now officially one in real life! I am so happy I found my happily ever after and got to experience my fairy tale wedding. Christian is my prince charming, the love of my life and most importantly my cheerleader. I can now focus on being the most wonderful house wife for him while taking on the roles that I really want to play thanks to his love and support. No more saying yes to practically every gig that came my way just to try and make it.
